Both the Forza support team and Xbox engineering have been working to address save file issues reported by Forza Horizon 6 players – cases where progress either becomes corrupted or vanishes entirely. A dedicated support page on the official Forza Horizon site received an update at 11:00 PM Pacific time last night, confirming that a new Xbox platform update has begun rolling out.

The official statement reads:

“The XBOX team is actively developing platform updates for XBOX Series X|S and PC to help address these issues, so please make sure your devices are updated. On Windows PC platforms, these fixes have already been distributed through the Gaming Services client. For XBOX Series X|S console players, we are planning to release a system update that will begin rolling out tomorrow, June 12. You can get the update by following the instructions outlined in this XBOX support article.”

Players eager to apply the fix immediately rather than waiting for automatic delivery can trigger the update manually once it becomes available. Here’s how to do it on Xbox Series X|S:

  • Make sure your console is connected to the internet, then press the Xbox button to open the guide
  • Navigate to Profile and System – Settings – System – Updates
  • Under Updates, you will see either “Console update available” – select it to begin updating – or “No console update available,” meaning your system is already current

The save corruption problem is estimated to affect up to 5% of the total player base. This update should significantly reduce – if not eliminate – the volume of reported incidents on Xbox consoles.

The situation isn’t ideal, but the response from both teams has been prompt and transparent throughout.
