Pokemon Pokopia continues its tradition of monthly special events this season, bringing fresh opportunities to expand your collection and strengthen your gameplay. The latest event centers on Sableye, a pokemon that players can encounter and befriend while gathering exclusive in-game items and resources unavailable outside the event window.
Before diving into the Sableye event, note that Pokemon Pokopia is currently hosting Bulbasaur’s jump rope competition, running through April 26th. Participants can earn special trophies and bonus game resources by taking part. Event duration and how to access Sableye

The Sableye event runs from April 29th through May 14th, starting and ending at 5 AM in your local timezone. Interestingly, players can manipulate the game’s time settings to begin the event earlier if desired.
The mechanics follow the established pattern from previous Pokemon Pokopia events. When a notification appears about a “new pokemon everyone’s talking about,” head to any restored Pokemon Center you’ve discovered. Sableye will be waiting either outside or inside the building.
New players should progress far enough into the game first to unlock the initial Pokemon Center. This happens during the main quest “Yawn’s No Laughing Matter” in the Withered Wastes location.
During this event, Sableye is searching for Red Crystal Fragments. The pokemon will ask for your assistance in collecting these materials – your primary objective for the duration of the event.
Locating Red Crystal Fragments
Red crystal clusters only appear in the world once the event begins, functioning as the event-exclusive red variant of the blue crystal clusters found throughout caves. Simply strike these formations to collect the Red Crystal Fragments you need.
While these fragments can appear in any Dream Island cave, they spawn in significantly higher concentrations on the volcano-themed section of Dream Island, accessible by using Drifblim with an Arcanine doll to travel there.
Event items and habitat requirements

Sableye represents a new addition to Pokemon Pokopia, and you’ll want to establish a friendship with this pokemon and construct its unique habitat. Sableye trades the Red Crystal Fragments you discover for event-exclusive items. Some items serve functional purposes in building Sableye’s specific habitat, while others function as decorative pieces for standard environment construction.
The event items available include:
- Digital Camera – 5 Red Crystal Fragments
- Map and Compass – 5 Red Crystal Fragments
- Oil Lantern – 2 Red Crystal Fragments
- Sleeping Bag – 10 Red Crystal Fragments
- Gem Wall Decoration – 2 Red Crystal Fragments
- Camping Chair – 5 Red Crystal Fragments
- Camping Cauldron – 10 Red Crystal Fragments
- Treasure – 5 Red Crystal Fragments
- Adventure Set – 10 Red Crystal Fragments
- Tent Set – 10 Red Crystal Fragments
To construct Sableye’s habitat, you’ll need the Map and Compass, one Adventure Set, and one Treasure item. Gathering all these items requires careful planning of your crystal fragment collection and strategic trading with Sableye throughout the event period.
