Owlcat Games has officially launched the closed beta for The Expanse: Osiris Reborn. The action-RPG is currently playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam – with the full release scheduled for spring 2027.
This testing phase requires special bundles and functions similarly to early access. It is set to last until the game’s official debut. Developers intend to polish the project – specifically focusing on gathering player feedback for further development.
Set in “The Expanse” universe, players survive the Eros disaster as mercenaries. The mission involves gathering a crew to oppose the Protogen corporation. Narrative depth, branching choices, and companion interactions are the core focus of the experience.

The beta currently includes two character origins, basic specializations, and space station exploration. It features initial combat encounters and dialogues. Final versions will offer more customization and diverse character progression paths for the players.
Owlcat Games noted that while this version is far from finished, it clearly reveals the massive scale and ambition driving the project.
