European owners of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S have finally witnessed the official launch of pre-orders for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI. The long-awaited event took place on the night of June 25. Simultaneously, the developers revealed the game’s retail price for the European region.
Players expected the worst. Many anticipated seeing a 90-euro price tag. However, Rockstar Games and Take-Two decided to establish price parity with the United States of America. The standard edition will cost Europeans 80 euros, while its price in the US is set at 80 dollars.

For the European market, this move was a real surprise. Traditionally, in this console generation, AAA hits cost significantly more in Europe than across the ocean. Usually, projects priced at 70 dollars are offered to European gamers for 80 euros. For instance, that exact amount must be paid for Saros from Sony or Resident Evil Requiem from Capcom.
Nintendo demonstrates its own peculiar pricing policy. The physical edition of their Mario Kart World was priced at 90 euros. Meanwhile, the digital copy of the very same game is available for the standard 80 euros.
The creators of Grand Theft Auto VI chose a different path. They surprised many. In the US, the price bar was raised, but for Europeans, the cost remained at the level of most current-generation releases.

In addition to the base version, gamers will be offered a premium Ultimate Edition. Its price will be 100 euros in Europe and 100 dollars in the US. Buyers of this variant received a great bonus. They will gain access to exclusive cars, weapons, clothing, and extra activities that the developers integrated directly into the storyline of the main characters—Jason and Lucia.
Pleasant gifts are provided for placing any pre-order. Users will receive a free one-month subscription to the GTA+ service. They will also be gifted the Vintage Vice City Pack cosmetic set, which includes various outfits, hairstyles, and items in the nostalgic aesthetic of the old Vice City.

Collectors are already expressing dissatisfaction. The game will receive a physical edition, yet there will be no traditional disc inside the box. Buyers will find only a voucher with a digital download code there. Due to this decision, several small retailers from North America have even declared a boycott against the project.

The Indian segment of the PlayStation Store registered its own regional price. There, the sixth installment of the famous franchise costs 6 thousand rupees. When converted at the current exchange rate, this equates to approximately 4.7 thousand rubles.
The official release of the game is scheduled for November 19, 2026. The marketing promotion of Grand Theft Auto VI will take place in close partnership with the PlayStation 5 console. An important point for regional players is that the developers have already officially confirmed the presence of a Russian translation.
