Bethesda Game Studios has officially scheduled the shutdown of The Elder Scrolls: Blades for June 30 – 2026, as recently highlighted on Reddit. The title has already been delisted from the App Store, Google Play, and the Nintendo eShop, which means new users can no longer download the application.

First released in 2020, Blades attempted to merge classic dungeon exploration with town-management mechanics and touch-optimized combat. The project initially enjoyed a surge of interest, garnering over one million downloads on iOS platforms during just its first week of early access.
To mark the end of the service, developers are offering a farewell gift to the remaining players. A free bundle containing Gems and Sigils is now available, and every item in the in-game shop has been reduced to a price of one unit of currency, allowing fans to access content without additional costs.
Despite the strong start, the game’s commercial success remained limited. On Metacritic, it holds a “Generally Unfavorable” rating, with many players criticizing the repetitive nature of the gameplay loops and the presence of aggressive monetization throughout the experience.
This move follows a similar pattern for the franchise’s mobile spin-offs. The Elder Scrolls: Legends previously lost developer support back in 2019, eventually leading to its own server closure in January 2025.
Fans looking for a mobile alternative in the series can still turn to The Elder Scrolls: Castles.
