Taming a baby wyvern in Crimson Desert requires patience and preparation, but it’s far simpler than acquiring other flying companions. The phoenix demands precision shooting from the sky; the iron eagle requires a platinum ingot. This scaled creature? Much more straightforward. You essentially need to locate a wyvern egg, hatch it, and watch it register as your permanent pet. Interestingly, patch notes mention this creature will become a rideable mount once fully grown.

Before attempting anything, you’ll need the Focused Palm Strength ability. If you missed it during Chapter 4’s path to Sholastton – and many do – and the phantom doesn’t appear at your waypoint between Fort Pervin and Haronso, you’ll have to wait until Chapter 9. During the first quest called The Summons, you’ll enter a desert temple and clear statues using Focused Palm Strength, unlocking the skill automatically in your ability tree.

Finding Wyvern’s Cradle

Travel to Wyvern’s Cradle on Deleisha’s southwestern edge – the easternmost region of Paivela. The location sits west of the Duehaven waypoint marker and north of Three Brothers Cliff. Clear out the Wyvern enemies inhabiting the area, then you’re ready.

Hatching Your Own Wyvern: A Complete Guide to the Crimson Desert’s Newest Pet

If you’re carrying the Forest Children quest from Forest Warden Pororin, speak with Shay at the nest first. Otherwise, you won’t be able to use Focused Palm Strength – likely because they nest too close to the cave entrance. Here’s the process:

  • Climb the staircase from the crater’s center into the colonnaded cavern section
  • Follow the left wall searching for mineral deposits removable via Focused Palm Strength and clear them
  • Enter the newly opened cave and grab the wyvern egg, plus any chest contents
  • Carry the egg back down and place it in one of the nests – specifically the central one made from twigs

Done correctly, the egg begins trembling and glowing. Wait several minutes as the intensity increases, then interact with it to trigger hatching. The baby wyvern emerges immediately. Unlike bird pets that perch on your hand, this creature’s size means it mostly hovers nearby instead.
