On January 31, Electronic Arts released the long-awaited remaster of The Sims and The Sims 2 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, EA App). The developers not only added all the existing content to each game, but also patched them so that they could run on modern PCs. But is everything as good as EA told us?

Fans are extremely unhappy with both remasters. The Sims: Legacy collection currently has a “Mixed” rating, with only 58% of positive reviews out of the total. Players complain about the rather high price, citing that EA did not make the game worse, but asked for too much money ($20). Quite often, fans observed crashes from the game. The interface is also annoying, tiny by the standards of modern monitors.

As for The Sims 2, things are even sadder: 50% of positive reviews. The problems are the same as with the updated version of the original: crashes, bugs, lack of significant improvements. According to players, positive reviews are written by fans nostalgic for the past and not noticing the shortcomings.

It’s better to play Sims 4 than to settle for unfinished editions.
